Dennis & Gerry Weaver's Earthship "Sunridge." Ridgway, Colorado

Ridgway, Colorado
Tucked beneath the snow-capped San Juan Mountains of scenic southwestern Colorado, Ridgway is a "hidden treasure in the 21st century. Once a railroad town, always a supply center for the sprawling ranches that surround it, it is just a few miles from Ouray, Little Switzerland of America, and world-famous ski and golf resort: Telluride.
If you enjoy the outdoors, the area has it all: miles of scenic trails for bikes, hikes, jeeps and horses. Up on the mesa overlooking town is the Divide Ranch, a residential community and world-class championship golf course. To the south, Ridgway State Park and reservoir offers boating, camping, water skiing, fishing, and swimming at its manmade beach. In winter, take a Black Diamond run in nearby Telluride, straddle a snowmobile or try the cross-country and snowshoe trais, then soothe those sore muscles in one of the local hot springs.
Sunridge
Dennis Weaver's Sunridge, in Ridgway's Pleasant Valley, is a secluded 20-acre spread with pine and cottonwood groves and breathtaking views of the Cimarron Ridge and the snow-capped San Juan Mountains, among the most picturesque of the Rockies.
Winding through the property is lively Dallas Creek, which fills a private pond frequented by wild geese and irrigates a lush pasture, currently the playground of a small herd of llamas who are often joined after a glorious Colorado sunset by families of deer.
